This Privacy Policy describes how Accountability App ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you use our mobile application and related services.
1. Information We Collect
Information You Provide
- Account Information: Name, email address, phone number when you create an account
- Accountability Partner Information: Names, email addresses, and phone numbers of people you designate as accountability partners
- Profile Information: Any additional information you choose to add to your profile
Information Collected Automatically
- Device Information: Device type, operating system, unique device identifiers
- Usage Data: App interactions, feature usage, crash reports
- Push Notification Tokens: To deliver push notifications to your device
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide and maintain the Accountability App service
- Send help alert notifications via SMS, email, and push notifications
- Notify accountability partners when someone needs help
- Confirm when partners respond to help requests
- Improve and optimize the Service
- Communicate important updates about the Service
- Ensure compliance with legal obligations
SMS/Text Messaging Privacy
When you or someone adds you as an accountability partner, you may receive SMS text messages. Regarding SMS:
- We collect phone numbers solely to send accountability-related alerts
- When added as an accountability partner, you will receive a one-time welcome SMS confirming your enrollment and providing opt-out instructions
- We do NOT sell, rent, or share phone numbers with third parties for marketing
- SMS data is used only for delivering help alerts and response confirmations
- You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message
- Standard message and data rates may apply

4. Data Security
We implement appropriate security measures to protect your personal information:
- Data encryption in transit (TLS/SSL)
- Secure cloud infrastructure (Google Cloud/Firebase)
- Access controls and authentication
- Regular security reviews
While we strive to protect your information, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
5. Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time.
- Account Data: Retained until you delete your account
- Alert History: Retained for 90 days, then automatically deleted
- SMS Logs: Retained for 30 days for troubleshooting purposes
6. Your Rights and Choices
You have the right to:
- Access: Request a copy of your personal data
- Correction: Update or correct inaccurate information
- Deletion: Request deletion of your account and data
- Opt-Out: Stop receiving SMS messages by replying STOP
- Withdraw Consent: Remove accountability partners at any time
How to Delete Your Account
You can delete your account and all associated data at any time:
- Open the Accountability App
- Go to Settings (tap the gear icon)
- Scroll down and tap "Delete Account"
- Confirm your decision when prompted
Alternatively, you can email support@onlyblv.com with the subject "Delete My Account" and we will process your request within 30 days.
What happens when you delete your account:
- Your profile and account information will be permanently deleted
- You will be removed from all accountability partner relationships
- Your alert history will be deleted
- This action cannot be undone
7. Children's Privacy
The Accountability App is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we discover we have collected information from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly.
8. Third-Party Services
Our Service uses the following third-party services:
- Firebase (Google): Authentication, database, cloud functions
- Twilio: SMS messaging services
- SendGrid: Email delivery services
- Apple Push Notification Service / Firebase Cloud Messaging: Push notifications
These services have their own privacy policies governing their use of your data.
9. California Residents (CCPA)
California residents have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act:
- Right to know what personal information is collected
- Right to know if personal information is sold or disclosed
- Right to say no to the sale of personal information (we do not sell data)
- Right to equal service and price
10. European Users (GDPR)
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you have additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):
- Legal Basis: We process your data based on your consent (when you create an account) and legitimate interests (to provide the Service)
- Data Portability: You can request your data in a machine-readable format
- Right to Object: You can object to processing of your personal data
- Right to Restrict Processing: You can request we limit how we use your data
- Supervisory Authority: You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority

12. Push Notifications
We use push notifications to alert you when:
- Someone in your accountability network needs help
- A partner has responded to a help request
- Important account-related updates
You can disable push notifications at any time through your device settings. Note that disabling notifications may prevent you from receiving critical help alerts from your accountability partners.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
